From Fine Art Landscape Prints to Portrait Photography: The Evolution of Mark Thau Photography
Venturing into Professional Photography: Mark Thau Photography
As 2005 approached, our business plans were set, and Mark Thau Photography was born. Initially, our focus was weddings, portraits and commercial work. However, serendipity played its part when Mason’s preschool (Laura’s Preschool and Daycare, still our account today!) and then Little League (Chico Westside, still our account today!) needed a photographer, thus launching our events based portrait photography business.
A Niche Emerges: Events Based Portrait Photography
Distinguishing ourselves with a commitment to quality and exceptional customer service, our mission was clear. Properly lit subjects and backgrounds, authentic expressions and a dedicated staff ensuring every photo event is a positive experience.
Exploring Nature’s Canvas: Landscape Photography as a Passion
As the years passed, my lens didn’t just capture portraits, but also explores vast landscapes throughout the west on family trips to Olympic National Park, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Lake Almanor. My portfolio of landscape fine art grew steadily alongside the demands of the portrait business.
Blending Portraiture and Landscape: A Creative Fusion
Occasionally, portrait clients sought to blend the realms of portraiture and landscape, venturing into the scenic Bidwell Park. My skills and passion for landscape photography continued to evolve, creating a harmonious balance between capturing life’s intimate moments and the grandeur of nature.
Growing Portfolios: Landscape Fine Art Prints Alongside Portrait Success
19 years since the inception of Mark Thau Photography, the essence of those early portraits persists - properly lit scenes, genuine expressions, and impeccable customer service. My lens has not only documented the growth of families but also witnessed the beauty of the world through the art of landscape photography. This journey has been a testament to passion, skill and an unwavering commitment to the art of photography.
