Friend’s Morning Horizontal

This is one of those days when I went to the park because there was bad weather!  We took a chance on the storm breaking and wow did it pay off.

Lassen National Park has been called a lonely park and early in the morning on a winter day that can feel absolutely true.  We reached the point you see now and stopped to see what the clouds would do.  2 Friends came up next to us and we all remarked what a great day it was turning into.  They continued up the hill.  The person I was with was getting ready to ski up when the conditions were right.  As the 2 friends reached the turn in the path, the clouds opened, and the sun broke through.

I have been known to work fast when necessary and this was one of those times.  I already had the shot laid out in my mind and camera settings dialed.  This moment came and went in less than a minute.  When it was over, there was no doubt in my mind, I got what I wanted!
