A version of this had been in my mind for a while.  It is that unique period of time where the oak trees are half leafed out with spring just beginning.  The weather report had this storm ending in the morning.  I hoped that would mean a dramatic break up of clouds as it ended and was determined to be there when it happened.  There were so many layers to the clouds as the early weather gave way to sun and blue skies.  It was a chilly day, but the wind pushing this storm out made it even colder.  As anyone from Chico can tell you, this is a popular spot.  Because of the conditions I had it all to myself.  On days like this my dad would say take a chance and go.  If the weather doesn’t get better, no big deal.  If it does, you have the place to yourself.  Being in nature when it is like this makes me feel alive!
