Unveiling the Latest Fine Art Prints by Mark Thau

This new release series means a lot to me as it showcases my growth as an artist while still allowing me to focus on my events-based business. This year is shaping up to be our busiest yet for event and commercial photography work, and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Despite the hectic schedule, I'm grateful to have the opportunity to continue creating fresh, modern landscape prints that serve as a creative outlet for me. Balancing both aspects of my career is challenging, but it's incredibly rewarding to see the results of my hard work in both realms. Here's to continued growth and success for Mark Thau Photography as a whole!

The Story Behind The Landscapes

Bear Hole in Fall Glory—Upper Bidwell Park, Chico, CA: A friend and I had hiked into Bear Hole a week before this, and while the clouds were good, the color was not. Just when I was starting to think the year would pass, this day was a perfect blend of fall color, clouds, and the nostalgic feeling of visiting Bear Hole in Bidwell Park. Read on>

Mid Mountain in Zion Canyon—Zion National Park, Utah: There is something unique about a mid-mountain view. Standing beneath mountains makes them appear huge.  From the top, there can be sweeping vistas, but the bottom detail is potentially lost. The middle makes you feel like you are part of the landscape. Winter Clouds at Delicate Arch—Arches National Park, Utah: On a solo trip to The Southwest, I ended up at Arches with potential weather. I arrived late in the morning, hiked in, and was blown away. It was bigger than I remembered.  Statistically speaking, the odds of this arch surviving are so low. Read on>

Phantom Falls at Storm Break—North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve, Oroville, CA: There is something special about storm clouds coming apart. The potential for a dramatic event is high. Hopes of being in one of these moments can have me driving into storms and showing up to empty parking lots. In this case, that’s exactly what happened. Read on>

Lassen Descending into the Clouds—Lassen Volcanic National Park, CA: This felt like a somewhat busy morning Lassen. After we got about a mile in, we still saw nearly a dozen people. Busy is a relative term…..  The weather report said a storm would move in, which was, of course, why we were there!  Things can happen fast in the mountains, but wow, did these clouds get here in a hurry. Yosemite High Country—Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park, California: This was one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen while having dinner. We pan-fried New York Steaks. To finish it off, we crisped cubed potatoes and boiled broccoli. All while sitting in our camp chairs and taking it in. This dinner would have been good at home. In this location, after a long day of hiking, we unanimously agreed it was the best meal we’ve ever had! Read on>
